WELLINGTON DOCK.

THE COMMITTEE’S SUGGESTION. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, last night. The Committee which was appointed by the AVellington Harbor Board to deal with Mr Ferguson’s report on the dock scheme, presented its report at this afternoon’s meeting of the Board. The Committee recommended the Board to approach Parliament next session with a request that the Grainger street block should bo vested in the Board as a permanent endowment for dock purposes. This block was acquired by the Board some time ago from tho Corporation undor certain conditions, among others that tho bo sold within nine years aftor acquisition. Tho Board haß expended nearly £40,000 on the block, and the committee proposes in effect that the Board should subsidise tho dock to that extent, retaining the block as a permanent property from which revenue would be derivable. The report of the committee was adopted.
