ADMIRALTY HOCSE
By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, last night. The ceremony of laying the foundation stone of Admiralty House took place this afternoon at Emily Place, the work being , erformod by Mr Alfred Kidd, Chairman of the Auckland Harbor Board and Mayor of the city, fncitations were sent to the members of both those bodies to witness the ceremony, and also to the foreign onsuls.
FIRE ESCAPES,
A case of considerable importance came up at the Police Court, when Walter H. Darson, chemist, was charged, on the information of the Inspector of Buildings, with residing in a house and not being the bolder of a certificate from the Inspector that such house was provided with the proper means of escape in case of fire. This is the first ease brought under clause lilH of the Municipal Corporations Act of 1900. The case was adjourned.
