THE WAIKARE

(Special to Timks.) Auckland, last night. The Waikare, which arrived from Sydney last nigiit, brought over a hundred and eight passengers from Sydney. THE WILKINS CASE. Tho Supreme Court was crowded a late hour this evening to hear the verdict in the Wilkins case. The jury were again unable to agree. Awaiting for the verdict was indeed an anxious time for the aged doctor. Walking up and down the biix. he would almost every minute glance towards the clock whilst waiting for the verdict. The frost of age has shone on Dr. Wilkins’ head since this trial commenced. In referring to the evidence given by detectives, corroborating each other's statement, Dr. Wiikins stated that birds of a feather dock together.
