Reuter's Pretoria correspondent reports that surrenders are occurring freely throughout the country. Two Boor sympathisers at Middleburg were sentenced to two months’ imprisonment for secretly entertaining the enemy. About one hundred burghers have been disfranchised at Burghersdorp, Middleburg, and elsewhere for treasonable conduct.

By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright London, Aug. 27. Three British officers and 65 men on Elliott’s right, northwards of Ladybrand, surrendered on unfavorable ground. They were captured by a superior force, and afterwards released. Olio was killed and four wounded during tho action. An inquiry into the matter has been opened, The Daily Express correspondent states that 400 burghers have surrendered at Middleburg.
TAKING REFUGE IN THE MOUNTAINS.

They secured and shot a hundred horses, and fired tho grass slopes at Acht-ersberg. The invaders of Cape Colony are split into fragments.
