THE MOTHER CENSURED.

[By Telegraph—Press Association.] Napier, last night. The inquest on the body of Elizabeth Schmidt’s infant, found dead in bed, was resumed at Hastings this morning. The jury returned a verdict that death was due to suffocation, but there was no evidence to show whether it was accidental or otherwise. A rider was added to the verdict that the mother had been guilty of culpable negligence.
