Gisborne Roadstead.

Wellington, last night. In reply to Mr Collins, as to the Gisborne roadstead, the Minister fur Marino said there was no necessity for ail enquiry as to the Tokomaru, as it was reported to bo merely a vibration, and the ship itself showed no evidence that she had touched ; simply a trembling motion had been felt on hoard. On taking soundings, they found seven fathoms over the side. As to the Tomoana, an inquiry was held by the Collector of Customs, ft was evident that the cause was a rock not known of previously in the roadstead, and their object was to locate it so that further accident might bo avoided. Tho master of the vessel was informed that if he desired it a Magisterial inquiry would he held, but the offer was not accepted. The Tutanckai was subsequently sent there and located the rock, and its exact position was gazetted.
