RAILWAY ACCIDENT.

A MAN KILLED,

By Telegraph.—Press Association.

Dunedin, last night. A man of about forty to forty-five years of age was terribly mutilated at tho Rattray street railway crossing to-night. So far he has not been identified, and nothing was found on him to givo any clue to his identity. Tho man was evidently caught by a train shunting, while going or coming from tho wharf, and carried from one side of the street to tho other, probably a dozen waggons passing over him. His left thigh and right arm are smashed, tho right foot and right hand cut off, three-fourths of the scalp torn away, and the chest injured. Ho was taken to the hospital, where ho died at about 11.30.
