A FIRE,

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Dunedin, last night. A house belonging to Michael McKay at South Dunedin was destroyed by fire last night. The insurancees on the house arc : New Zealand Office £250, furniture £ISOO. The actual loss is estimated at £3OO. SUICIDE.

Charles Anderson, o lumper, 55 years of age, committed suicide at Port Chalmers early this morning by cutting his throat with a razor. Deceased was living with a companion named Henry Bexton in a small house. Bexton said goodnight to him at one o’clock this morning, and was afterwards aroused by a noise in the yard, and discovered Anderson bleeding from his wounds. Medioal aid was summoned, but it was too late.
