Census Papers.
NOT SUCH CARELESSNESS AS WAS REPORTED.
[By Telegraph Press Association.] Wellington, last night. The damage to the census papers through Tuesday’s fire is not so great as was at first feared. Only the papers on which the clerks were working the day before the fire, and which were left on the tables, were affected, and those not irreparably.
