MAYOR INTERVIEWS MR MESTAYER. I i NOTHING IN MR LYSNAR’S OBJECTION. (Special to Times.) Wellington, last night. The Mayor of Gisborne (Mr Townley) interviewed Mr Mestayor to-day. Mr Mestayer pronounced Waihirero to bo tho only available source, and if satisfied with the quality and quantity of the water he was, he said, certain thero was nothing in Mr Douglas Lysnar’s objection, which would apply to both schemes. Contingencies would cover the cost of correcting any faults in the ground. Modifications, he said, could bo made to lesson the first cost.

Mr Mestayer says the drainage schemo does not cover tho cost of house connections for water carriage.
