[By Telegraph—Press Association.] Auckland, last night. Mr W. Courtenay, Immigration Agent, leaves for London to-day to establish offices for the supply of information for intending immigrants. The Conciliation Board has concluded its sitting at Waihi, and visits Thames and Coromandel. The employees of the brass and iron moulding trade have applied to refer their dispute to the Arbitration Count. The Barrier Beefs return is 1618 tons for £3058. Henry Johnston was charged at the Police Court with intent to defraud, by false pretence obtaining from the Kauri Timber Company £SOO ; also that, with intent to defraud, he destroyed a receipt signed F. and W. S. Toote for £750, the property of the Kami Timber Company, lie was remanded till Monday next. Wellington, last night. A supplement to the Gazette notifies the Government intention to. take compulsorily two estates in Hawke’s Bay district —Kumara, 36,000 acres, the property of Messrs Crosse ; end the Forest Gate Estate of 8150 acres,'the property of the late Colonel Herrick’s trustees.
