By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright London, May 5. At the wool sales Merinos were firm, scoured showing a slight advance- on opening rates. Crossbreds were unchanged in price. The sales included Wheeop, 7Ad ; Oroka, 9 1-Dd ; Kaputone, lOd. Up to date 54,423 bales have been catalogued, and 48,467 sold. Meat Market—Mutton : Wethers aud maiden ewes, Canterbury, Dunedin, and Southland, 3Ad ; North Island, 3,jd. Lamb : Prime Canterbury, 5-j-d ; fair average, including Dunedin, Southland, and Auckland, and secondary Canterbury, sd. Bivcr Plate : Crossbred or Merino wethers, heavy, 2fd : light, 2 7-Bd. Beef is unchanged in price. Hemp is steady. Good Wellington March-May shipment is at £2B 10s, and April-June shipment at £22 15s. Kauri gum sales —2679 packages have been offered, and 1300 sold. Threequarters scraped is firm in price, and was all bought. There is in stock 1747 packages. * Copper is at 70 15-16, and silver at 2s 3 9-16 d.
