THE HALF-MILLION LOAN.
SUCCESSFULLY FLOATED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Wellington, last night. Ono hundrod and ten tenders have been received by the Government for the halfmillion loan. Tho amount tendered was £'861,300, and the price averages about one shilling above par. The allotment will be made later in the day. FURTHER PARTICULARS. The half million four per cent debenture loan put on the market by the Govermnfint under authority of the Aid to Public Works and Land for Settlement Acts lias been floated. The tenders, which closed at noon today, were opened in tho presence of the Colonial Treasurer and the AuditorGeneral. There were 110 tenders received for an aggregate sum of £861,300, at an average price of one shilling above par. Ninety tenders were for amounts of five thousand and under. Tho amount tendered for over par was £140,000. The average of the total over par was one shilling and sixpence. About £150,000 was tendered for from Australia. . No tenders were sent in by any Government Departments of the colony. The Premier says that on the whole the loan is very satisfactory, and he is well pleased.
