Mr J. A. C. Baker, who has been connected with the Union Steamship Company since Slay, 1890, has resigned from the service, and is returning per Waikarc to Sydney. Hr Baker, who was but recently appointed to the pursership of the Omapere, and has occupied a similar position on other of the company s vessels, will carry with him the good wishes of his old associates and a large number of the travelling public.
