It appears that somo weeks ago, the. accused induced a Potone resident to sell his home,

furniture, and effects on the strength of a fictitious will, leaving £37,000. He brought the Potonito and his family into Wanganui, and-then Slater disappeared. Ho next turned up at Parapara (up tho Wanganui river), and passed himself off as a long-lost uncle. Ho came to town to-day with the intended victim, in order to malic another will, when he was arrested.
