FLOURISHING ASSOCIATION.

By Telegraph—Press Association. Nelson, last night. At the annual meeting of the Nelson Agricultural and Pastoral Mr James Morrison, the President, in an address, congratulated members on. the success of the Association, and relative to the last show, said they had beaten Christchurch in entries for Ayrshirc.s and Herefords, and Palmerston for Ayrshircs. For the year they were able to pay another £l5O, making in i’ll, towards the purchase of the /Richmond Bark, so that in the future they would stand rent free. The retiring President was accorded hearty thanks, and Mr Patton was elected the next President. MUNICIPAL ACTIVITY.

This evening, at a meeting of ratepayers, etc., a Nelson Citizens Union was formed, its objects being to further the good government of the city, and to secure the election of suitable persons to the Counoil,
