WAIHI DISPUTE.

Auckland, last night. The miners’ dispute with the Goldmining Companies of AYaihi opened to-day before the Conciliation Board. The miners claim that the men recently’ dismissed by the AVaibi Company be reinstated and compensated for lost time. They claim 46 hours for a day "shift and 47 hours for a night shift, with six hours a day in wet workings, wages to range from 12s per day for shift bosses to 8s 6d for surface labourers. Boys unner 18 years, to receive 7s a day ; over 18, full wages. They also ask for the preference of unionists, and that no contract work be allowed under ground except on conditions fixed by the Conciliation Board.
