HARBOR BOARD RETURNS.
PROGRESS OF AUCKLAND. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, last night. Tho Auckland Harbor Board returns for 1900 contain many items of interest in showing the progress made by Auckland during the time of the Board’s existence. Tho statement of net revenue shows that in the first year of the Board’s constitution, namely 1572, the total revenue amounted to £12,49S 2s lid, whilst in 1900 the total amounted to £50,711 6s 4d, or, with interest added, to £51,185 15s lid, an increase as compared with 20 years ago of £38,687 13s. The revenue for 1900' was tho largest collected in the history of the Board, and exceeded that of 1899. by £4676 18s 7d, exclusive of interest. The comparative statement of expenditure for 1899 and 1900 shows that there was an increase in this direction during 1900 of £10,864 Is 7d.
