A VICTORY FOR HAWKE’S BAY.

[By Telegraph—Press Association.] Wellington, last night. At tho Polo Tournament to-day in the second round of the Savillc Cup Competition, Hawke’s Bay effected a surprise by beating Christchurch, by eight goals to three.

AVithin half a minute of the start Ormond scored for the Napier men, who had the best of the game throughout. In the handicap cup Hawera defeated AVellington B. by fifteen goals to eight. Tanks, captain of tho visiting team, played a very fine game. The weather was beautifully fine.
