OTAGO REGATTA.

INTERPROVINCIAL RACES. A SUCCESSFUL AFFAIR. By Tolegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, last night. The Otago Rowing Association’s Regatta was held at Lake Waihora yesterday. The weather was perfect. There was a large attendance and good racing. Interest was lent to the event by tho first interprovincial race of the colony being held. Previous contests havo been held between Otago, Canterbury, and Southland clubs, but the first match between picked men from various clubs took place. INTERPROVINCIAL FOURS. Otago (C. Columb, J. Mitchell, C. Brathwaite, J. McGrath) 1; Southland (D. Rodie, B. Basling, A. M. Cameron, L. Broad), 2. The Southland crew went off with the lead, but Otago soon got on terms. A good race followed to the winning post, the- Otago crew winning by a length in 7min 43sec. The Senior Fours race was was won by the Queen’s Drive crew, stroked by Braithwaite, Dunedin (Columb, stroke) being second, and North End third. Time 7min 21sec.

The Otago Club won the Junior Double Sculls. The Dunedin Amateur Club won the Senior Pairs, Williams and Olsen beating McGrath and Nicholson, of Otago. J. McGrath, Otago, won the Handicap Single Sculls.
