PATUTAHI NOTES.

The Patutahi quarry road'is nearly completed, over three miles having been metalled. Tho road will be found a very great convenience to the settlors. Mr Faulkner has started a sawmill on this side of the quarry, and settlers can now procure timber in any quantity. A large supply of white pine is at present on hand, and this can bo secured at the lowest market price. The harvest is over, and settlers are at present busily engaged sowing grass-seed on the hills.

The country is looking very well after the recent rain.

The Patutahi Road Board are calling for tenders for cutting 45 chains of drain in two contracts. Tenders close at the Board’s office on Saturday.
