SIXTEEN LABORERS KILLED,

By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, March 4. News from Now Britain states that a rising has occurred iu the French islands to tho north.

From tho meagre particulars to hand it appears that the natives attacked the trading station of Peter Hansen and killed sixteen of his laborers, and burnt and looted liis station houses.

Tho white traders have takeu refuge in a shelter, where they are holding out against the natives.

The Government steamer has gone to the scene.
