Denial by Mr Seddon.

AN UNTRUE REPORT,

By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, last night.

Tho Premier says that the statement appearing in the Melbourne Argus, that Mr Seddon, in connection with the Pacific cable, suggested pooling the receipts, has no foundation, and is absolutely incorrect. At the conference held in Melbourne, one of the representatives made a statement that it had appeared in print that the Pacific Cable Board had mentioned the pooling of receipts. That was all that took place respecting the same, and the representative who made this statement was not Mr Seddon.
