[by TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, last night. The Education Conference resumed today, the delegates being addressed by Mr Hogben, Inspector-General, who indicated the mind of the Department in regard to the change of the syllabus. Ho said the Minister was inclined to favor the establishment of District High Schools rather than High Schools too small to bo stable. A new School Attendance Bill will be introduced next session, raising the age exemption to 14.

Resolutions were passed in favor of curtailing the syllabus by making history a reading subject only, and making the geography course shorter, and by rearranging the instruction in arithmetic.
