The Associated Press correspondent that, stricken by one of the worst famines in modern times, thousands of Chinese are dying in Honan province, where 6,000,000 are officially reported to be on the verge of starvation. Official reports to Chungking said that 18,000,000 famine refugees clogged the roads from Honan toward Shensi and Hupei. The situation is intensified by the necessity of supporting the large military force holding the present front against the Japanese.
