CATTLE FAIR ENTRY LARGE JERSEY OFFERING The entry at the third cattle fair of the season at the Matawhero saleyards yesterday totalled 2707 in the store pens and 117 in the beef section, an aggregate of 2824 head. The easier values in the male section of the store entry and the firm rates among the were maintained without change to the end. A pen of speyed Hereford heifers, three-year-oldß, passed in during' the morning at £G 18s, was sold afterwards at £1 2s 6d. Much of the entry during the afternoon included 700 Jersey cattle, ' including some two-year-old heifers of good quality purchased by Waikato buyers. Twelve marked heifers realised £5 10s and other good heifers down to £4 10s, ordinary sorts ranging from £2 to £3 10s. Empty Jersey cows sold to £3 and Jersey steers from £4 10s to £4 15s. The top prices realised for station cattle in the store pens yesterday, in comparison with those at the previous fair, are given below:—
