LADY GALWAY GUILD At the second annual meeting of the Lady Galway Guild. Te Karapa, held last week, Mrs. J. G. Appleton presided. tiring work of the home sewers’ guild at Waipaoa whose members receive re-cut garments from each meeting, return them beautifully finished, and ask for more. Flour bags for lining small shorts are still in keen demand and clean old woollens are still fe-cut for small clothes, re-knitted, or made into quilts.

As the Galway Guild members function also as the Waikohu Women’s Patriotic Guild, there was a further record of work done which included patriotic parcels, the support of the patriotic shop, sale of art union tickets, and the making of camouflage nets. Since the establishment of a wool depot at Mrs. A. G. Lucas’ home 180 articles had been completed by patriotic knitters. N

Office-holders or the previous year were returned without opposition:—President, Mrs. J. G. Appleton; vice-presidents, Mesdnmos C. C. Dowding and J. D. G. Hodgson ; secretary and treasurer, Mrs. R. D. Dymock. It was announced that Christmas parcels for overseas were due now. Cake tins will be sent out on arrival and must be returned to the Waikohu County Council office by September 10.
