Pretty Wedding

East—Ledger Gown of White Net Decorations of pink and blue hydrangeas formed a picturesque setting in Holy Trinity Church, Derby street, last Saturday evening for the marriage of Susie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. Ledger, McLean street, and William Norman, son of Mrs. East and the late Mr. Howard East, Carnarvon street, Gisborne. Tlie ceremony was performed by the Rev. K. Liggett, and Mr. D. G. Dyer presided at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, looked charming in a frock of white net mounted on matching taffetas. The bodice was designed with puff sleeves and a heart-shaped neckline ornamented with accordionpleated frills, and the bouffant skirt was cut on graceful lines. Her veil of exquisitely hand-em-broidered tulle was caught to the head with a spray of orange blossom and fell in soft folds to form a train. White silk mittens were worn and a lovely sheaf of Madonna lilies, intermingled with asparagus fern, completed the ensemble. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Emily Ledger, wearing a picture frock of Dresden pink net mounted on matching taffetas. A gold Juliet cap made an attractive headdress, and gold shoes were worn, with stockings to tone. Her sheaf was composed of pink chrysanthemums, intermingled with asparagus fern. Mr. J. East carried out the duties of best man. Charming: Reception Following the ceremony a charmingly arranged reception was held in Findlays’ Lounge. Mrs. Ledger, mother of the bride, was wearing an elegant frock of deep red sheer accented with a shoulder spray of matching roses, combined with delicate greenery, and accessories to tone. Mrs. East, mother of the bridegroom, wore a smart frock of black silk with white trimmings, a hat to match and a black coat finished with a shoulder spray of white flowers and maidenhair fern. Mrs. Allsup, sister of the bridegroom, chose a navy .blue ensemble, and another sister, Miss East, was becomingly frocked in blue and white sheer. Mrs. J. C. Smith, Auckland, aunt of the bride, was wearing a frock of scarlet voile with a black velvet coatee and gold accessories. Miss Austin, Auckland, aunt of the bride, chose a green frock and matching accessories. Master Milton Smith, Auckland, cousin of the bride, was also a guest. The bridegroom’s gift to the bride was a triple string of Richelieu pearls, and to the bridesmaid a single string of pearls. The bride and bridegroom left later for a motor tour of the North Island, the bride travelling in a smart green floral frock worn with a coat and hat to tone. On Thursday afternoon Miss Gena (Humming, Hamilton, invited a number of friends to a delightful informal tea at the home of her mother, Mrs. W. (Humming, Derby street, to meet Mrs. R. N. Jones, Eastbourne, Wellington.
