Evening Wedding
Wall—Martin Pink Bridal Clown A pretty wedding was solemnised in the Church of Christ, Roebuck road, on the evening of Thursday, December 21, when Joyce Isabel, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Martin, Stanley road, was married to Henry Hoyle,’only son of Mrs. Wall and the late Mr. O. S. H. Wall. The ceremony was performed by Pastor L. R. Usmar, and Miss Covick presided at the organ. An archway composed of delicatelytinted flowers formed a picturesque setting for the bridal group. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a lovely frock of pale oink taffetas. The bodice, which was fastened down the back with tiny matching buttons and loops! showed long sleeves, full at the shoulder, and a high neckline accented with a posy of pink carnations. The gracefullvcut skirt fitted closely at the hips and flared gradually to sweep into a long oval train.
Her veil of palest pink tulle was held in place with a halo of pleated tulle and a spray of orange blossom. Pink satin sandals were worn, with stockings to tone, and a bouquet of carnations in soft shades of pink completed the ensemble. The bride was attended by Misses M. Riddell and N. Henderson. Each wore a charming frock of peacock blue tafTetas piped with gold. The bodice was designed with a heartshaped neckline and short put) sleeves, and the full skirt just revealed gold sandals. A halo of blue tulle spangled with gold made a becoming headdress, and each bridesmaid carried a bouquet of oink carnations. 1 Mr. A. H. De Costa was best man, and Mr. D. Caldwell groomsman. Reception in Orange Hall After the ceremony a delightful reception was held in the Orange Hall, Cobden street. Mrs. Martin, mother of the bride, was wearing a smart clover costume of wool georgette and a navy blue straw hat ornamented with pastel-tinted flowers. Her bouquet was composed of roses and carnations in delicate tonings. Mrs. Wall, mother of the bridegroom, wore an elegant gown of black satin and a hat of matching straw trimmed with pastel-shaded flowers, a. bouquet of roses and carnations completing her toilette. The bridegroom’s gift to each bridesmaid was a crystal necklace. The bride and bridegroom left later for the South Island, the bride travelling in a frock of navy blue crepe-de-chine printed in a small floral design in green featuring a V-shaped neckline edged with coilee-coloured ac-cordion-pleated georgette, a smartlytailored petrel blue coat, and a navy felt hat and matching accessories.
The bride and bridegroom were the recipients of a wonderful array ol wedding presents.
