BIG ’QUAKE RECORDED
DOMINION OBSERVATORY CONFUSED MOVEMENTS (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Seismographs at the Dominion Observatory started recording ; a big quake at 12.18 p.m. yesterday.' The instrument recorded large movements but the record is a very confused one and, as yet, it is not possible to decipher much from it. The movements lasted between three and four hours.
