AUSTRALIAN ATHLETES

N.Z. VISIT CANCELLED YOUNG SCULLER SELECTED (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Dec. 26, 9 a.m.) SYDNEY. Dec. 25. The Sunday Telegraph states that the New South Wales leading athletes, D. Dunn, D. Miller, E. Winter, and the Victorian runner G. Backhouse, will not be allowed to compete in the New Zealand centenary championships in February owing to the New Zealand championships clashing with the championships here. The 16-year-old sculler K. Webb, of Sydney, has been selected to visit New Zealand with the Australian eight-oar crew. No senior sculler is available for the trip.
