FRASERTOWN MEETING COUNTY QUEEN ACTIVITY WRESTLING IN THE HEAT (Special to the Herald.) WAIROA, this day. As a finale to the county candidate’s activities in connection with the Wairoa queen carnival a very successful sports meeting was held on the Frasertown Domain on Saturday. The perfect weather conditions attracted a large number of town and country people, and as a result of the effort the funds of the county queen, Miss D. Delaney, should be increased considerably. A feature of the meeting was a special five-round wrestling contest between ‘'Bomber” Wells, 13st., and “Strangler" Bayliss, 13st. 101 b., both of Napier. After a good exhibition of strenuous grappling in the heat, Bayliss won the bout m the fourth round bv two falls to one. Bayliss secured the first fall with a body press iii the second round, but Wells equalised with a submission fall in the following round. Bayliss secured the decision with a body press following a dump in the fourth round. Mr. A. W. Rowe, Napier, refereed the contest.The following are the results of the various events, the number of starters in each event appearing in parentheses: Horse Events Maiden Jump (10).—W.
