SATISFACTORY YEAR

TURANGANUI GOLF CLUB ANNUAL MEETING HELD CLUB-HOUSE ADDITIONS A very satisfactory position was shown at the annual meeting of tire TuranganuL Golf Club last night, when Mr. J H. Cato presided. The annual report submitted by the club captain, Mr. R. G. Robb, stated that although the membership declined from 60 to 66 during the year, the club had a good season, and after paying for club-house extensions the balance sheet showed a surplus ol £66 17s 7d, a very creditable position for such a club that had been in existence for only four years

The club-house additions were carried out under the supervision cl Mr. W. F. Marshall at a "cost of £39 15s lOd. Thanks were extended to the ladv members ter the organisation of social evenings. During the year matches were played with the Gisborne Park, Tolaga Hay and Wairoa clubs, and return visits were made.

Championships and trophies won during the year were given in the report as follows: Men's Senior Championship: P. Kaua; runner-up, R. Keiha. Ladies’ Senior Championship: Mrs. W. E. Bullivant; runnerup, Mrs. R. Robb. Meh’s Junior Championship: R. Gordon, runner-up, N. Williams. Ladies’ Junior Championship: Mrs. N. Cram; runner-up. Miss P. A. Breck. Mcanaroa Pere Cup: G. Butler; runner-up, C. Flelcher. Hinekoia Cup: Mrs. W. E. Bullivant; runner-up, Mrs. R. Keiha. William T. Pitt Memorial Cup: Mrs. Robb .and C. Pere; runner-up, Mrs. N. Cram and P. Kaua; President’s Cup. president v. captain: President, 11.I 1 . Keiha.
