GOODS FROM GERMANY PURCHASE BEFORE BAN BRITISH EXEMPTION (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 1.30 p.m. RUGBY. Dec. 17. The Ministry of Economic Warfare has announced that the Japanese vessel Sanyo Maru, carrying a qargo, of German exports, has been released from the contraband control base in the Downs after a stay pf 24 hours./ Assurances previously had been given by the Japanese- Government that all the goods of German origin on board had been paid for before November 27. Official statements issued with the Order-in-Counoil of November 27 stated thai exemption might be given for goods of German origin which had become neutral property prior to that date. It was reported on Saturday from Rotterdam that the Sanyo Maru had sailed with a cargo of German potash and machinery. ■
