Christmas Party
A distinct air of gaiety pervaded the Tiniroto Hall on Saturday night, when the Tiniroto Women’s Institute entertained the children of members at a delightful Christmas party. Decorations of streamers, flowering manuka and greenery created a festive atmosphere, and the young people were sorry when the time came lo leave such a pleasant scene. The supervision of the floor was in the capable hands of Mr. Douglas, and dancing and games were entered into with keen enthusiasm.
The music was supplied by Baty Bros.’ orchestra, and extras were contributed by Mrs. Noble-Campbell and Mrs. Keith Evans, Tahora.
A spot waltz competition for the tiny tots proved popular, and. the winners, Alison Richardson and David Kent, were suitably rewarded. A well-laden Christmas tree was the centre of attraction, and the distribution of the gifts was efficiently carried out by Mr. W. McGonigal, who filled the role of Santa Claus. A delicious supper was served informally. The children had the floor until 10 p.m., when the dance was continued by the adults.
