INTRIGUES OF STALIN
TROTSKY MAY TESTIFY AMERICAN INQUIRY (Reed. Dec. 7, 2.20 p.m.) WASHINGTON, Dec. 0. Mr. Dies, chairman of the committee investigating activities against America, announced that he will probably ask Trotsky to testify before the committee in January near the Mexican border relative to Communist activities in Latin America. He alleged he had information that M. Stalin is ‘‘seeking a foothold in Mexico ( &nd other (Latin American countries' to distract the' United States from the European situation to give him a free rein in Europe.”
