SHEEP DEMAND FIRM LAMB VALUES RISE WESTFIELD AUCTION (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. A larger yarding of good quality beef at Westfield stock sale yesterday met with a slacker demand, and values eased on last week's rates. Extra choice ox beef made 37s per 1001 b.. choice and prime 33s lo 3Gs; prime cow and heifer beef 29s to 355, boner and rough 22s to 30s. Extra heavy prime steers made from £l3 10s to £ls, heavy £l2 12s 6d to £l3 15s, medium £ll to £l2 15s, light £9 to £ll 10s, unfinished £5 to £lO ss; extra heavy prime cows and heifers £8 10s to £lO 12s (id, heavy £ll 10s to £8 15s, medium £6 10s to £7 10s, light £5 5s lo £6 10s: aged and unfinished, £3 5s to £5 ss.

Competition was keen for an average yarding of pigs. Porkers realised recent rates, while baconcrs were higher. Choppers made from £2 to £4 3s; heavy baconcrs £3 19s to £4 4s, medium £3 13s to £3 18s, light £3 Gs to £3 11s; heavy porkers £2 10s to £3 3s, medium £2 9s lo £2 15s, light £2 4s to £2 9s, small and unfinished £1 13s to £2 4s: stores £1 8s to £1 IGs; slips £1 4s to £1 10s; wcaners 15s to £1 2s. Baconcrs averaged Gd to G.jd per lb., 'and porkers G:;d to 7',d per lb.

Bidding was steady for a slightly smaller yarding of sheep. A firm sale at late quotations resulted for wethers, while ewes showed an improvement.
