RAIDERS SHOT DOWN

TWO ENEMY MACHINES
(British Official Wireless.) Reed. 9 a.m. RUGBY, Nov. 22,
The Air Ministry announced: “Last night enemy aircraft approached the south-east coast. Anti-aircraft gims opened fire and fighters were sent to intercept them. One enemy aircraft was shot down into the sea by antiaircraft fire. A second enemy aircraft was engaged and brought down by our fighters.” The Air Ministry and the Ministry of Home Security announce that an air-raid warning was sounded in a district of Essex shortly before 10 o’clock this evening. The “raiders passed” signal was given half an hour later.
