Y.M.C.A. DISPLAY
OUTSTANDING AMATEURS
MYSTERY DANCER ITEM
The Gisborne Y.M.C.A. gymnastic display in the Opera House on Wednesday night promises to be one of the best yet staged. Mr. R. O. Blackwell, physical director, has spared no pains in the training of the items. Mr. Blackwell has introduced into the programme many novelty items, paramount among these being the exhibition of Risley foot acrobatics.
The advent of a mystery dancer is an added attraction and intending patrons will see a finished exhibition backed by the cavalcade of colour ballet.
Another member of the gymnasium, Mr. James E. Mercer, will be heard in a baritone solo. Mr. Mercer goes on military service at an early date and this will be one of the last opportunities of hearing this talented performer for some time. Tommy Martin, the tap dance artist, also will perform in iiis inimitable manner, and Miss Annette Shields will do a national dance. The music for the display is in the capable hands of Stuart Skect and his orchestra. The “Great North Island Troupe,” will be seen in their dare-devil act, and the Roman ring squad will present a finished performance of acrobatics. These are just a few of the items that will be presented. Intending patrons may be assured of an excellent show, each item being brief and spectacular, tire latter being more applicable to class drills which are a feature of the programme. Free reserves for the display are obtainable at Tattersall and Bayly's. Popular prices are being charged.
