HENNEBERRY IN U.S. DRAW WITH ABRAMS LOW BLOWS PENALISED (hPr. Trl. <'ojiynglit—Unitotl Tress Assn.) (Reed. Nov. 20, 9 a.m.) NEW YORK, Nov. 17. The bout between the Australian boxer, Fred Henncberry, and Abrams resulted in a draw. Henncberry was penalised in three rounds for striking low blows that hit the top of his opponent's trunks. They were folds under the New York State rules but they would not have 'been penalised in Australia or England.
The correspondent of the United Press of America, writing in 1 lie New York Times, comments that Henneberry’s American debut was unimpres-
“Henneberry's punches were glaringly inaccurate,” he says. The New York Herald-Tribune agrees that Henneberry’s accuracy was deplorable and adds: “However, rugged if unspectacular. Henncberry may make (rouble as he learns to keep ’em up.”
Conn retained the world’s lightheavyweight boxing title on points in a bout with Gus Lesnevich.
