SCOUT NOTES
TWO BUSY WEEKS TESTS NOT NEGLECTED By “Sconlcr” The past two weeks have been busy ones in the Scout ranks, for with Guy Fawkes and the A. and P. Show, where Scouts were doing duty, there has been plenty to keep them moving.
The ordinary Scout test work has been carried on, while time lias been found to do a little proficiency badge work. Sclwyn Carter has completed his King Scout badge, and it will be presented this week. Ken Parkinson has only to complete his swim to gain the same badge.
Prior to our weekly parade, we hold a sing song for an hour, and the Y.M.C.A. Scouts are showing up very well in these lessons, which are conducted by Mrs. R. Berry, and Mr. P. Mitchell. The Sea Scouts, and Mangapapa troop are still going along quietly in the work, and are looking forward to the camp at Christmas, when they will have an opportunity of competing with the country troops.
The Cub packs in turn arc doing very weh and are getting in plenty of outside wen:.
This evening llie fortnightly court of honour for the Y.M.C.A. troop will be held in the Scout room at 7 o'clock. Both loaders and seconds will attend, and should wear their uniforms. The camp will be the principal matter for discussion.
All camp application forms should be returned to the Scoutmasters as soon as possible. All forms should be in by November 28 at the latest.
