RESIDENTS ALARMED

SHOWER OF BULLETS MACHINE-GUN MISHAP (Klee. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Nov. Hi. !) a.m.) SYDNEY, Nov. 15. Further details of the accidental discharge of machine-gun bullets from an outgoing cruiser, which landed in Double Bay, Rose Bay and Wavcrley to-day show that within 10 seconds the complete belt of 200 rounds was discharged, but it is believed that only about 30 bullets fell in the suburbs. • Many pierced ceilings and fell into rooms. The police stations received telephone inquiries from residents who feared an air raid was in progress. Fifty police were sent to the suburbs affected to reassure the householders.
