GREYHOUND RACING

OPENING OF. SEASON SUCCESSFUL TRIALS v Successful trials were conducted during the week-end by the Gisborne Greyhound Racing Club on the Victoria Domain, the gathering marking the opening of the now season. Owners mustered in good numbers, and both hurdles and flat trials were held, some promising young dogs taking part. As the racing season will start during the first week in December, officers of the club are preparing the track. It is proposed to hold a further muster for trials next week-end. and all owners will bo welcome to take part with their dogs. It is proposed this season to race the hurdlers over brush jumps, as this form of hurdling is both more spectacular and less likely to result in injury to the dogs. The first attempt with the new type of jumps will be made during the week-end trials.
