JUST MISSES DRIVER SUMNER INCIDENT While a motor car was being driven .dong a street in Sumner on Wednesday night a bullet pierced the windscreen just over tire driver's head and fell between two women passengers in die back seat. No one in die car was hurt. The driver of it was Mr. Clifford H. Barren.
It was dark when the shot was fired. From the direction of the .22 bullet it seemed to those in the car that it might have been fired at the approaching headlights. An unsuccessful search was made by Mr. Barrell and his party for the possible firer of the shot, and the matter was immediately reported to the police in Sumner.
In the windscreen of the car, near the top of the windshield wiper, is a small bole, surrounded by a small path of starred glass and a slight crack. The bullet was discovered after a search of the back seat, in which two persons were sitting, and was handed to the police.
