OPENING IN TIME

It is stated that provided war contingencies do not interfere with suplilies, the new Waterloo bridge will be opened next June. The work has been proceeding for two years and, although the war has caused difficulty in obtaining steel and timber, supplies arc now improving. The carriageway will accommodate six lines of traffic and navigation of the river will be greatly facilitated by the wide spans of the bridge.

The construction is reinforced concrete faced with Portland stone and granite.
