MILLIONS HOMELESS
PEASANTS OF HOPEI CUTTING OF DYKES ACTION BY INVADERS (Reed. Nov. 3, 9 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 2. A message dispatched- ..yesterday from Chungking states that the Chinese Government alleges that the Japanese rendered 5,000,000 peasants homeless by cutting the dykes in.the Hopei province to flood out the guerilla forces. Five new Japanese divisions have arrived in the Hunan province and another drive southward along the I-lankow-Canton railway is expected shortly.
