ESCAPE FROM U-BOAT
SHELLS INEFFECTIVE (Reed. Nov. 3, 11.40 a.m.) GIBRALTAR. Nov. 2. It is officially stated that the British steamer Egba,. escaped from a submarine 240 miles east of Madiera. The U-boat opened fire, but the Egba was not hit.
