No Building Permit

A decision to prosecute a resident for erecting a building without lirst securing a permit was reached by the Gisborne Borough Council last night, when it was reported that plans had been submitted, but the building was already erected. On file mol ion of th c Mayor. Mr. D. W. Coleman, M.P., if was decided to instruct the council's solicitors lo prosecute and to ask for a heavy penalty. "II is only by doing that that the council will slop -this sort of thing,” the Mayor added. It was also stated that the man had been prosecuted previously for a breach of the by-laws.
