GOLF SEASON CLOSED
TUOI AND PARK LINKS CANADIAN FOURSOMES The golf season was officially closed in Gisborne on Saturday afternoon, the Gisborne Park and Turanganui clubs ending their competitions with Canadian mixed foursomes. The winter competition on the Awapuni links stopped a week or two ago. TURANGANUI CLUB The mixed foursome on the Tuoi links was won by Miss M. Herbert and D. B. Tennent on the count back from R. Robb and Mrs. Robb. Driving, approaching and putting competitions resulted as follows: — Women. —Driving, Mrs. R. Robb; approaching, Mrs. W. E. Bullivant: putting, Mrs. R. Keiha. Men. —Driving, K. Keiha: approaching, R. Gordon; putting, R. W. Halbert. The president, Mr. P. Keiha. and club captain, Mr. R. Robb, thanked the members, visitors and friends for their full attendance and then called upon Mrs. W. T. Pitt to present the following trophies won during the season. Women’s Trophies Women’s Championship. Senior: Mrs. W. E. Bullivant: runner-up. Mrs. R. Robb. Junior: Mrs. N. Cram; runner-up, Miss P. A. Breck. Hinckoia Cup.—Mrs. W. E. Bullivant: runner-up, Mrs. R. Keiha. Ladies' Handicap Competition.—Mrs. P, Kaua. William T. Pitt Memorial Cup and Miniatures. —Mrs. R. Robb and C. Pere; runners-up, Mrs. N. Cram and P Kaua. Men's Trophies Men’s Championship.—Senior: P. Kaua: runner-up. R. Keiha. Junior: R-. Gordon: runner-up. N. Williams. Moanaroa Pere Cup.—G. Butler. First A Handicap Competition.—P. Kaua; runner-up, R. Keiha. First B Handicap Competition.—K. Keiha; runnerup, W. Anderson. Second A Handicap Competition.—C. Pere. Second B Handicap Competition,—P. Tilley. W. Good and Company’s Cup.—Men v. Women: R. Robb, on behalf of men. as holders. Teams Annual Match. — President v. captain: P. Keiha. president, on behalf of team as holders. PARK GOLF CLUB A medal round played on Saturday b-.’ members of the Gisborne Park Golf Club was won by L. Williams, 94-24-70. M. M. Taylor, 90-19-71, and V. Venables, 96-24-72, being the next best of the cards returned. The season was officially closed by the club captain, Mr. J. Slipper, after an enjoyable Canadian foursomes had been played and a group photograph taken. The winners were P. Tureia and Mrs. E. Woodrow, 84-21-63, followed by P, H. Dow and Miss L. Haisman, 84-19-65. Other good cards were: L. Winter and Miss Izod. 94-28-66; F. Fenwick and Miss Lane. 86-19-167; and V. Venables and Mrs. Swainson. 90-22-68.
