STUD BULL SALE
LOW HASTINGS RATES
The annual sale of the Springfield Aberdeen Angus bulls offered by Mr. W. H. Meebh, of Taradale, at Stortford Lodge attracted a small attendance of buyers and little demand was shown for the entries. A total of 60 bulls was offered, about one half of the number being three-year-olds. Only one-half were sold and the prices were the lowest realised lor pedigree bulls for several seasons.
The bulls were all in natural condition and included infusions of the Ben Lomond, Waiterenui and Turihaua strains. A percentage of the two-year-olds were by Mr. Meech’s latest importation from America, Barmar Escort, ancl these ranged from 17 gns. to 25 gns.
The top price of the sale for bulls sold was 25 gns. for a two-year-old by Baffin of Gwavas, being purchased by Mr. Nelson Lane, Waipuna station, Puketitiri. The three-year-olds averaged 14 gns., and the two-year-olds 17 gns.
